Frequently asked questions

Are the numbers I enter uploaded anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and the numbers, text and files you enter are not sent to our servers. The one exception is a problem report: nothing is sent until you press Send, and your measurements are included only if you tick the box.

Do the photo and file tools upload my files?

No. The photo tools (watermark, blur, grid tiles) read the file in your browser and draw the result on a canvas on your own device. The file is not uploaded. If you close the tab the work is gone, so download the result before you leave.

How accurate are the results?

They are estimates built from the numbers you enter and the assumptions stated on each tool page. Real jobs add waste, uneven surfaces, pack sizes and product differences. Check the result against product labels, instructions and local rules before you buy or cut anything.

Can I use the tools on my phone?

Yes. The pages are built to work on small screens and need a current browser with JavaScript turned on. Wide tables scroll sideways on narrow screens.

The result looks wrong. What should I do?

First re-check the units and the values you typed, and read the Limitations section on the tool page. If it still looks wrong, use the Report a problem button at the bottom of the tool page and describe what you entered and what you expected.

A tool shows an error or does not load. What can I try?

Reload the page, make sure JavaScript is enabled, and try a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. If the error stays, a Report this error button appears on the tool page and sends a short error code only.

How do I report a problem or suggest a change?

Open the tool, press Report a problem or suggest an improvement near the bottom of the page, pick a category and describe the issue. You can read the full report before sending it. You can also use the contact page.

Is anything saved on my device?

A tool may keep a small repeat-visit counter, and the project planner keeps a plan only after you press its button. Both stay in your browser. The Cookies page lists every item and how to clear it.

Do I need an account, and does it cost anything?

No account is needed and the tools are free to use.

Are the results professional advice?

No. The tools give general estimates for planning. They are not engineering, construction, financial, tax, legal, medical or safety advice. See the Disclaimer page for the limits in each area.

Can I share or print a result?

Yes. Most tools can copy the result, download a CSV or print the page. Some also make a share link. A share link stores your inputs in the part of the address after the # sign, so anyone who gets the link can see those inputs.

Does the site show ads?

Not at the moment. If ads are added, the Privacy and Cookies pages will be updated first and a consent choice will be offered where it is required.
