Make a printable rotating chore chart for your household. Add people and chores with a difficulty score, pick the number of weeks and check that everyone gets a similar load. Runs in your browser.

Names and chores stay in this browser. Nothing is uploaded or sent to a server, and nothing is saved when you close the page.

Who is in the household
Chores and how hard they are

Example: Bathroom: 3. A chore with no number counts as 1. Up to 12 chores. Each chore is done once a week.

When to use this

  • You share a home with family or housemates and want chores to rotate so nobody is stuck with the worst one.
  • You want a printed chart for the fridge covering several weeks.
  • You want to see, in numbers, how many chores and difficulty points each person ends up with.

How to use

  1. Type one name per line for everyone who shares the chores.
  2. Type one chore per line with a difficulty from 1 to 5 after a colon, such as Bathroom: 3.
  3. Choose how many weeks to plan and press Make the chart.
  4. Read the chart and the fairness check. Print it, copy the text or download a CSV.

Examples

Understanding the result

The chart has one row per chore and one column per week, showing who does it. The fairness check adds up each person's chores and difficulty points over all weeks. The points gap is the busiest person's points minus the least busy person's. A small gap means a similar load, and zero means exactly equal.

Limitations

FAQ

How do I make a fair chore rotation?

Give each chore a difficulty score, list the people, and let each week's hardest chores go to whoever has done the least so far. This tool does that and shows the totals so you can check.

What do the difficulty points mean?

They are your own 1 to 5 score for how much effort or time a chore takes. They are only used to balance the load between people.

Why is the points gap not zero?

Chores come in whole pieces, so a perfect split is not always possible. Adding more weeks usually brings the totals closer.

Can the same person get the same chore two weeks in a row?

The tool prefers someone who has done that chore least, so repeats are avoided where possible. With few people and few chores some repeats can still happen.

Can I use it for kids and adults together?

Yes, but the tool does not know ages or abilities. Give age-appropriate chores lower scores and adjust the printed chart by hand if needed.

Are the names I type stored or sent anywhere?

No. Everything is handled in your browser and is gone when you close the page, so print or copy the chart first.
